Welcome to UConn’s newest students — the Class of 2019! Posted on August 28, 2015 by Laura Smith UConn’s freshmen in 1909 welcome you to campus!
I passed your question on to Betsy Pittman, our University Archivist, who made this reply: By 1909, there are only three brick buildings on campus — Agricultural Hall (1900) http://doddcenter.uconn.edu/asc/collections/chronology/HighlightLink.cfm?ID=220; Storrs Hall (1906) http://doddcenter.uconn.edu/asc/collections/chronology/HighlightLink.cfm?ID=241; and Horticultural Hall (1908) http://doddcenter.uconn.edu/asc/collections/chronology/HighlightLink.cfm?ID=254 Given the timing and the fact that the pillars are round not square (Agricultural Hall), my educated guess would be Horticultural Hall–now Gulley Hall.
