The Dodd Research Center is one of\u00a0the sponsors of the first state-wide book festival, to be held at UConn’s\u00a0Greater Hartford campus on\u00a0May 21-22,\u00a02011.\u00a0\u00a0In addition to the Dodd Center and UConn, other sponsors include the CT Center for the Book at the Hartford Public Library, the UConn Co-op, the CT Library Association, CT Humanities Council, CT State Library, and the CT Commission on Culture and Tourism.\u00a0\u00a0The Honorary Chair of the Festival is Wally Lamb, award-winning author of She’s come undone<\/em>, I know this much is true<\/em>, and The hour I first believed<\/em>, among other fiction and non-fiction works.\u00a0 Mr. Lamb will be the featured speaker at a\u00a0Gala Reception on November 20, 2010 at the Town and County Club in Hartford and\u00a0the public is welcome to attend.\u00a0\u00a0For tickets and other information, please go to the Festival’s web page at \ufeffhttp:\/\/ctbookfestival.org\/<\/a>\u00a0or send an email to ctbookfestival@gmail.org<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Other\u00a0authors appearing at the Festival will include\u00a0Dick Allen, Connecticut’s award-winning Poet Laureate for 2010-2015; Ronald L. Mallett, a physics professor at UConn and author of Time traveler<\/em>; Diane Smith, an Emmy Award-winning TV journalist and author of six books based in Connecticut, and\u00a0many others listed on the Festival’s web site<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0The Festival will bring together writers of books for adults and teens and activities will include readings, signings, storytelling and other presentations, great food offered by area restaurants, and an activity tent for kids aged\u00a03-12.\u00a0\u00a0Watch the web site <\/a>for the schedule of events.\u00a0\u00a0 See you at the Fair!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
