Seated:\u00a0 Mrs. Eva Greenwood, Interviewee<\/p>\n<p>Ms. Kena Sosa of Grand Prairie, Texas, was the 4th recipient\u00a0 of a<a title=\"Billie M. Levy Travel and Research Grants\" href=\"http:\/\/doddcenter.uconn.edu\/research\/travelgrants\/levy\/about.htm\" target=\"_blank\"> Billie M. Levy Travel and Research Grant <\/a>awarded\u00a0 by the Northeast\u00a0Children\u2019s Literature Collection.\u00a0 Ms. Sosa\u00a0 is a\u00a0 school librarian and teacher, with a BA in English and an MA in\u00a0bilingual education with emphasis on teaching the gifted and talented.\u00a0\u00a0 Her topic of research is the experience of Jewish children\u00a0 who escaped Nazi persecution to England and other countries by\u00a0 means of the<em> Kindertransport <\/em>program.\u00a0 The Northeast\u00a0 Children\u2019s Literature Collection holds works on this topic which Ms.\u00a0 Sosa used to gather information on the experiences of the children\u00a0 faced with new sights,\u00a0 sounds, language, and in some cases, new\u00a0 families.\u00a0 Ms. Sosa also interviewed two women who were\u00a0 transported to\u00a0 England as part of <em>Kindertransport<\/em> to create oral histories\u00a0 documenting their experiences. Kaplan.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Ms.\u00a0 Sosa has published on a wide variety of topics ranging\u00a0 from biracial children\u2019s\u00a0 literature to netiquette for kids.\u00a0 She\u00a0 hopes<br \/>\nto use the results of her research to write a children&#8217;s book about the\u00a0<em>\u00a0Kindertransport<\/em> experience.\u00a0 \u00a0Ms. Sosa\u00a0 presented the results\u00a0 of her research on\u00a0April 21, 2011, at the Thomas J.
