Recently named a MacArthur Genius Fellow, Yang is presently the National Ambassador for Young People\u2019s Literature, an appointment given by the Library of Congress, Every Child a Reader, and the Children\u2019s Book Council.<\/p>\n<p>Yang\u2019s\u00a0first book, <em>American Born Chinese\u00a0<\/em>(2006), was the first graphic novel to be nominated for a National Book Award and the first to win the American Library Association\u2019s Printz Award. \u00a0The book was also the recipient of the Eisner Award for Best Graphic Album-New. His second book, <em>Boxers and Saints<\/em> (2013), was nominated for a National Book Award and won the L.A. Times Book Prize. A leading figure in contemporary comics, Yang has been affiliated with Dark Horse Comics\u2019 continuation of <em>Avatar: The Last Airbender<\/em> and D.C.
