Join.” asserts the\u00a0clever new initiative\u00a0You Should – Humanities LIVED<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>sponsored by the UConn Humanities Institute.\u00a0 The aims of the project are straightforward: to\u00a0communicate the value that the humanities provide in our daily lives, to share our experiences, and to inspire others to do the same.<\/span><\/p>\n

Should<\/b>\u2014the word has a hint of urgency, a bit of bossiness, and even a dash of guilt. Here, it is mostly a suggestion about something that inspired passion. Thus, you really should.<\/span><\/p>\n

Every few weeks a member of the UConn faculty or staff offers a recommendation of a book, film, piece of music, podcast, or other inspiring work in the humanities that “should be consumed far and wide,” according to series editor\u00a0Alexis L. Boylan, an Associate Professor in the Department of Art and Art History and the Women\u2019s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Program at UConn and Associate Director of the Humanities Institute.<\/span><\/p>\n
