Levy&#8217;s program &#8220;Children&#8217;s Books: Their Creators and Collectors&#8221;.\u00a0 The show, which\u00a0began in 1993 on West Hartford Community Television, hosted hundreds of well know authors, illustrators\u00a0and collectors over the\u00a0years.\u00a0\u00a0Billie Levy, a retired librarian,\u00a0children&#8217;s book collector and host of the popular show, is well-known\u00a0to the Dodd Research Center.\u00a0\u00a0Her donation of over 10,000 children&#8217;s books\u00a0is the backbone of the Northeast Children&#8217;s Literature Collection (NCLC).\u00a0 And on a personal note, her southern hospitality brightens up any room she joins.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In this\u00a0video from the archives, courtesy of the University Libraries&#8217; new video streaming service, you can hear from our own NCLC Curator, Terri Goldich, just shortly after the new facilities of the Dodd Research Center\u00a0were dedicated in a plea to authors and illustrators to &#8220;Save That Draft&#8221;.\u00a0\u00a0 <a href=\"\/\/video.lib.uconn.edu\/Levy49\">mms:\/\/video.lib.uconn.edu\/Levy49<\/a><\/p>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In 1999, Curator Terri Goldich\u00a0joined Mrs. Billie M.
