{"id":62,"date":"2013-07-11T20:24:40","date_gmt":"2013-07-11T20:24:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs-dev.lib.uconn.edu\/babbidgebuildingblog\/?p=62"},"modified":"2013-08-30T14:15:49","modified_gmt":"2013-08-30T14:15:49","slug":"flooring-update-711","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs-dev.lib.uconn.edu\/babbidgebuildingblog\/2013\/07\/11\/flooring-update-711\/","title":{"rendered":"Flooring Update &#8211; 7\/11"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>While there has been progress made, the timeline for completion of all of the public flooring changes will no longer be by the end of the summer. \u00a0With that said, let&#8217;s tell you where we <em>have<\/em> made progress.<\/p>\n<p><b>The 4<sup>th<\/sup> floor lobby <\/b>is open.\u00a0 There are a few small details left, but if you have been up there I think you will agree it looks great! The addition of ceramic as a boarder around the room makes the space look larger, and the wear and tear on those high traffic areas will be much less as we move forward.<\/p>\n<p><b>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/blogs-dev.lib.uconn.edu\/babbidgebuildingblog\/files\/2013\/07\/4th-floor-lobby.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-63\" alt=\"4th floor lobby\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs-dev.lib.uconn.edu\/babbidgebuildingblog\/files\/2013\/07\/4th-floor-lobby-225x300.jpg\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs-dev.lib.uconn.edu\/babbidgebuildingblog\/files\/2013\/07\/4th-floor-lobby-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/blogs-dev.lib.uconn.edu\/babbidgebuildingblog\/files\/2013\/07\/4th-floor-lobby-768x1024.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blogs-dev.lib.uconn.edu\/babbidgebuildingblog\/files\/2013\/07\/4th-floor-lobby.jpg 1920w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/a><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>3<sup>rd<\/sup> &amp; 4<sup>th<\/sup> floor bathrooms<\/b> \u2013 The new tile work is almost completed and once the partitions are installed they will be ready for use again. \u00a0We hope to have that ready by mid-week next week.<\/p>\n<p><b>3<sup>rd<\/sup> floor carpeting<\/b> \u2013 The North side is open.\u00a0 Much of the furniture that can be, has been put back including the serpentine tables (which also received some maintenance improvements as a plus!)\u00a0 They will be electrified shortly.\u00a0 They are working on the South side and things are moving along now that they have a good system. They anticipate being done by mid to end of next week.<\/p>\n<p><b><\/b><b>Bookworms<\/b> \u2013 There is a small section of Bookworms that is missing tile due to some water damaged wood. \u00a0It has obviously not affected services but if you noticed it, we hope to have that all set soon.<\/p>\n<p><b>Plaza Level<\/b> \u2013 Once the crews finish up on the third floor, they will come down to the Plaza Level and work in the space behind the iDesk. \u00a0There will be minimal service interruptions during that time, however staff that work back there will be relocated temporarily. \u00a0If you need to contact the staff, including the reserve staff, we suggest e-mailing them as the most direction option. \u00a0You can also stop at the iDesk and they can give you their temporary locations.<\/p>\n<p>During this time, the<strong> Auriemma Reading Room will be closed to patrons<\/strong>.
