The week is now widely observed during the third full week of September (Sept. 15-21 in 2013) as \u201cUnmarried and Single Americans Week,\u201d an acknowledgment that many unmarried Americans do not identify with the word \u201csingle\u201d because they are parents, have partners or are widowed. In this edition of Facts for Features, unmarried people include those who were never married, widowed or divorced, unless otherwise noted.<\/em><\/p>\n<h3>Single Life<\/h3>\n<p><strong>103 million<\/strong><br \/>\nNumber of unmarried people in America 18 and older in 2012.
